Introduction to Painting

This introductory painting course is designed to provide students with foundation skills for rendering the subject with paint. Topics include: understanding value, the properties of paint, colour mixing & methods of application, develop form and volume through line, tone texture and colour.

Students will choose their own subject matter, create a value painting and a limited colour painting.

Preparation for the first class bring the painting supplies you have, for acrylic painting.

All supplies and tools will be discussed in the first class. Bring a colour photo of subject matter that you may be interested in painting, as well as a black and white copy of the same subject. Bring a small sketchbook and a HP pencil.

 

About your instructor:

Multidisciplinary artist Wayne Moore is a painter, sculptor, and for over 20 years, a popular instructor. He has been showing and selling his award winning work for 30+ years, and has had numerous solo and group shows in the region.
Wayne’s work is in corporate and private collections in USA, Holland, Japan and Canada.
