Description
Dick Rampen: A Visual Diary
Saturday, July 4 – Sunday, September 6
Dick Rampen grew up here, on RR1 Back Concession in Trafalgar Township, later to become 1086 Burnhamthorpe Road, Oakville. In his early years, he was surrounded by artists and farmers, and by the lakes and forests of the north, affording him experiences and adventures that influenced the rest of his life.
He graduated with honours from the Ontario College of Art and Design (now OCADU) and went on to teach Industrial Design and Fine Arts there for thirty-seven years. He is still active as a product designer and inventor.
These paintings capture Dick’s memories from growing up on the farm, attending the Taylor Statten Camps as a camper and later running the Craft Shop, living in an old house on the lake in Oakville, and retiring in Bear River, Nova Scotia.
Join us in opening the exhibition on Sunday, July 12 from 2pm – 4:30pm, remarks will be held at 3pm. Light refreshments will be served.
